Thank you to everyone who participated in Broomfield’s Commitment to Zero events in April. During the Spring Clean, hundreds of employees purged unwanted items from your workspaces. Many supplies and swag items found happy new homes at the Free Yard Sale… which means they stayed out of the trash!
Still more office items were donated or recycled by Broomfield’s Commitment to Zero team. The team also collected more than two tons of hard-to-recycle items at the second-annual Waste Not Want Not event on April 22. Broomfield employees brought everything from blenders to bike parts to 90’s-era user manuals, recycling a total of:
- 2,542 pounds of electronics
- 130 pounds of books
- 412 pounds of scrap metal
- 113 pounds of textiles
- 4 fire extinguishers
- 70 pounds of porcelain & ceramics
- 1,277 pounds of paint
During these events, the Commitment to Zero team discovered that some office supplies cannot be donated or recycled, including binders. Please be mindful when you order office supplies and only buy what you need.
Thank you for your continued Commitment to Zero. Through these recycling events and our everyday habits, we’re moving closer to zero!
